Fujian ships new ventilated railway containers in bulk for the first time
This is the first batch shipment of new railway ventilated containers in Fujian Province, marking a breakthrough in the transportation of soybean meal by railway. It provides more convenient and efficient material transportation support for soybean processing and breeding enterprises in the southeast coastal areas, further reducing social logistics costs.
Soybean meal is a by-product obtained after extracting soybean oil from soybeans, with high protein content, and can be used as the main raw material for livestock and poultry feed. As autumn approaches, the demand for livestock and poultry farms increases, and transportation demand also follows.
Due to the easy decomposition and heat accumulation of soybean meal in a closed environment, it is prone to spontaneous combustion and belongs to hazardous materials, with extremely high requirements for transportation environment. In the past, the transportation by railway box car required inspection of packaging bags and other devices, which was cumbersome, and the transportation cost by road was high and prone to wear and tear.
In order to thoroughly implement the decision and deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on effectively reducing social logistics costs and promote the transportation of bulk goods such as meal through the railway, personnel from the Fuzhou Railway Logistics Center of China Railway Nanchang Bureau Group Co., Ltd. have visited local soybean processing enterprises in Quanzhou multiple times, conducted special discussions on market conditions, transportation conditions, and transportation costs, tailored transportation plans, and decided to use the newly developed ventilated containers by the railway department to ship products at the Shicuo Station adjacent to the enterprise's production base.
The ventilated container body is equipped with ventilation holes near the top to create convection in the air inside the box, effectively solving the problem of heat accumulation during transportation of soybean meal and other meal products. It also has functions such as rain and foreign object prevention. The entire process is fully enclosed and leak free, reducing the risk of cargo damage and product pollution, ensuring good transportation status of the goods inside the box. This not only ensures controllable quality of goods during transportation, but also greatly reduces transportation costs such as packaging materials, labor, and loading and unloading fees.
In order to ensure the smooth shipment of the first batch of ventilated containers, the South China Railway Fuzhou Railway Logistics Center and enterprises conducted trial runs for soybean meal products, fully discussing the feasibility of this technology and laying a solid foundation for the implementation of the "ventilated container for meal" railway transportation mode.
The mass use of new ventilated containers will gradually open up a new mode of railway transportation in the southeast coastal market for soybean meal. After normalized operation, only one enterprise is expected to ship 4000 tons of soybean meal per month, saving transportation costs of about 20 to 30 yuan per ton compared to before.
The mass use of new ventilated containers this time is another new measure taken by the railway department to promote the construction of a modern railway logistics system. Relying on the advantages of railway large capacity, low cost, high efficiency, safety and reliability, and green and low-carbon, it actively adapts to the demand of the freight market, effectively reduces social logistics costs, and effectively promotes the high-quality and efficient development of regional economy
